Jessica grew up in Marietta surrounded by loving family and friends. She was involved in sports from a young age and struggled with pressures to perform both academically and athletically. Jessica has a strong passion to defend and care for those who are often misunderstood, which led her to receive her bachelor’s in special education. As a college athlete, she battled with identity issues, relationship struggles, and an eating disorder which prompted her to see a counselor to help her identify the root of her problems.
Jessica spent several years teaching middle and high school which allowed her to see the daily struggles many young people face including gender confusion, identity crises, and family traumas. After witnessing the battles so many young people experience, Jessica decided to pursue counseling in order to provide a space for people to experience safety, healing, and purpose. Jessica believes many people’s struggles are rooted in wrongful identity placement and finds the value of identifying the root of our presenting problems.
While Jessica was raised in the church, she did not truly start following Jesus until she was in college. Her faith was a major aspect of her healing process and loves discussing the role Christ plays in all of our stories. Jessica enjoys working with young people who are struggling with their identity, couples who are preparing for marriage or struggling in their relationship, and teenage/young adults who are suffering with internal battles. She is passionate about meeting people where they are and processing through the complex emotions and feelings we often feel so overwhelmed by. She is passionate about helping people find direction and purpose in their pain, heal from unidentified trauma, and learn how to find joy in the midst of darkness.
Jessica is happily married to her husband who is a native Texan. She enjoys exploring the outdoors, nutrition, traveling, finding new coffee shops, and spending time in God’s word.
